Child and Adolescent Caregiver Respite

If you are raising a child or children with a behavioral or mental health issue, a learning disability or a developmental disability, you may be eligible for Easterseals Child and Adolescent Caregiver Respite Program.  Caregivers must be Delaware residents and not receiving respite funding from any other source to be eligible to apply. 

All applications are processed in the order in which they are received until funding is fully obligated. This program is partially funded through the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families, Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration System of Care grant.

Relative Respite Program

Easterseals Relative Respite Program is a program designed to support grandparents or other relatives who are raising children because the parent is no longer able to do so. If you are a Delaware resident 55 or older and raising children who are under 18, you may qualify for Easterseals Relative Respite Program.

All applications are processed in the order in which they are received until funding is fully obligated.  This program is partially funded by the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities through the National Family Caregiver Support Program, Title III-E of the Older Americans Act.

Lifespan Respite Program

If you are caring for a child with a disability or special healthcare need; and/or an adult with a disability, Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, or conditions of aging then you may be eligible to apply for a respite voucher.  Applicants must be Delaware residents and not receiving respite funding from any other agency to be eligible for this funding.  

All applications are processed in the order in which they are received until funding is fully obligated. Applications are reviewed by our Application Review Committee which is comprised of members from local organizations and state agencies, not Easterseals staff.  This program is partially funded by the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities through the National Family Caregiver Support Program, Title III-E of the Older Americans Act.
