Easter Seals elected Kimberly Michel to their International Board of Directors at its recent meeting in Washington, DC.

“I’m honored to be a part of Easter Seals Board of Directors,” said Michel. “I am passionate about giving back to my community and Easter Seals specializes in individualized care at a local level.  Easter Seals celebrates each unique community and I’m proud to be a part of that.”

Michel first started as a successful agent, and then became the top nationally producing brokerage manager for one of the industry's largest companies. From there, she moved into agency management where she received five nationally recognized awards for top production and was the company's leading premium agency for three consecutive years, and is a multiple recipient of GAMA's (General Agent and Managers Association) International Diamond Management Award.

As a pioneer for many women in the insurance and financial services industry for breaking down many traditional gender barriers, Michel has received many distinctions. She was elected to the NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Los Angeles Hall of Fame. In 2005, Century City Chamber of Commerce bestowed her with the Women of Achievement Award, and in 2009, the Santa Monica YWCA honored her as the Woman of the Year. Michel was also named the first female President of GAMA Los Angeles as well as the first female President of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) Los Angeles.

Michel is currently active in many charitable organizations, including Easter Seals Southern California, where she was recently the Board Chairperson. Other volunteer work has included the Lorraine Jackson Pearls of Hope Foundation, The Every Child Foundation, and Big Thinking Women and the Women's Leadership Forum.

“We are delighted to have Kimberly serve as International Board Member for Easter Seals,” said James E. Williams, Jr., president and chief executive officer, Easter Seals. “Her tenacity and ambition is admirable, and will make her a great asset to the Easter Seals team.”
