A.C. Moore and Easterseals are ensuring all children have the opportunity to succeed in the earliest years of life in an easy and crafty way through this spring’s Crafting A Better World campaign.

A.C. Moore is teaming up with Easterseals’ Make the First Five Count® to help young children in their communities get the important Easterseals services they need to live happy and healthy lives. A.C. Moore’s in-store campaign runs March 19th through April 15th in local stores.

Since 2010, A.C. Moore has raised nearly $1 million in support of Easterseals’ Make the First Five Count® initiative. Make the First Five Count offers online resources, including a free screening tool, to help parents monitor their child’s progress in reaching development milestones in the first five years of life. So far, Easterseals and A.C. Moore have helped nearly 60,000 parents, grandparents and other loved ones take the next step in ensuring their child’s wellness.

“We know that the first five years of life are critical in a child’s development and long-term success,” said Katy Neas, Executive Vice President, Easterseals. Easterseals is excited to partner with A.C. Moore for the eighth consecutive year to ensure child wellness, development, and happiness.

“As a company deeply involved in our local communities, A.C. Moore shares Easterseals’ commitment to giving our nation’s young children the best possible start in life so they can reach for, and realize, their potential,” said Pepe Piperno, owner and CEO, A.C. Moore. “We are honored to continually support such a wonderful organization, giving customers of all ages the opportunity to express their creativity, while raising awareness and critically important funds to help children living with autism and other disabilities and their families.”

Easterseals will also be launching a video featuring children served by the organization nationwide making a craft. A link accompanying the video will be used to connect viewers to a donation page to enhance contributions generated by A.C. Moore customers in-store during the campaign.

Why A.C. Moore and Easterseals

Together, A.C. Moore and Easterseals are igniting a movement designed to unite all parents and children through crafts and cause. Easterseals has walked alongside parents and families for almost 100 years. We know that the first five years of a child’s life are the most critical ones for development. Crafting connects, says Neas: “Not only are crafts an enjoyable activity for children, simple crafting can also help children learn important skills that affect their overall development. “Crafting is just one of the ways parents can observe their children’s developmental progress.”
