Easter Seals recently honored a handful of state and federal government members with its 2014 Outstanding Advocate Award during the organization’s recent Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC. Easter Seals created its Outstanding Advocate Awards to honor public officials—elected and appointed—for their work to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities, and for all. Among the nominees is Joseph P. Helm a state appointed official from Alabama who is a champion for Alabamians with disabilities.

Joseph P. Helm, The assistant commissioner of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services has played an integral role in Easter Seals Alabama’s efforts to build projects and develop new programs and grants.
