EASTER SEALS FOUNDATION BOARD TRUSTEE ALEX PERRIELLO AUTHORS REVOLUTIONARY WAR NOVEL

Chicago, IL, April 1, 2016

Alex Perriello, a member of the Easter Seals Foundation Board of Trustees, has always been a history buff and a natural storyteller. Over the last four years, he found a way to combine those passions by writing a historical novel in his spare time. A busy real estate executive who flew more than 50,000 miles last year on business, Perriello recently completed “Jacob’s War,” a unique Revolutionary War story set in New Jersey.

Perriello took a decidedly modern approach to writing a story set nearly 250 years ago. “I wrote it completely on my iPhone® and took full advantage of weekends, vacations and long plane rides without Wi-Fi,” he said. “Growing up in Boston, I was always fascinated by this period of American history. Living in New Jersey today, I’m surrounded by Revolutionary War battlefields, encampments and museums, which ultimately served as the inspiration and backdrop for the story.”

“Jacob’s War” is now available on Amazon.com, and Perriello intends to donate 100% of the profits from the sale of the book to the Easter Seals Military and Veteran Services. He recently kicked off his fundraising efforts with a special book-signing event at the CENTURY 21® Global Conference in Orlando and in just two hours raised over $15,000 for Easter Seals Military and Veterans Services. Perriello previously served in the Army National Guard.

“Every day 22 American Veterans commit suicide in this country and that’s appalling,” said Perriello. “We owe it to our servicemen and women and their families to do everything we can to reduce that number to zero.”

The book jacket describes the story as follows: “When a present-day business executive discovers a wayward soldier on a remote New Jersey highway, he could never imagine that encounter would influence the outcome of the Revolutionary War!

‘Jacob’s War’ is the compelling tale of one soldier’s exceptional influence on the American Revolution. A carpenter by trade, Jacob was an unlikely war luminary. But a series of astonishing and mysterious events changed everything. Inspired by actual events, this is one historical account you will not soon forget. Get ready to be entertained and surprised!”

This is Perriello’s first novel, but not the first book he has written. In 2010, he co-authored “Ten Traits for Top Performers – A Real Estate Professional’s Guide to a Winning Career.” Back then, he wrote it the old-fashioned way – on a computer.
