Chicago, IL – For 100 years, Easterseals has been the indispensable resource for people with disabilities, veterans, older Americans and their families. From early intervention and autism services, to veteran transitions and senior care, Easterseals helps children and adults with disabilities live fully, every day and throughout their lives.

“On the ground and around the country, our 71 affiliates meet families where they are, and provide resources to help them reach their goals,” said Angela Williams, President and CEO of Easterseals. “Through our comprehensive live, learn, work, play service model, we reach populations across the lifespan nationwide.”

Easterseals’ program model of live, learn, work and play helps break down barriers in each area of life:

Live: Easterseals provides comprehensive care and services that help children and adults with diverse needs and disabilities live fully and independently. These supports include autism spectrum disorder services; occupational, physical and recreation therapy; mental health services; adult day-care services; and in-home care.

Learn: Easterseals’ early intervention, child development centers, inclusive education and other education-related programs help children realize their full potential inside, and outside, of the classroom.

Work: People with disabilities face twice the unemployment rate as those without disabilities. To bridge this gap, Easterseals’ employment and training services offer workplace inclusion programs and collaborations, including case studies with standout organizations and training and placement services to help people prepare for and succeed at work. The goal of these programs is to ensure people with disabilities – including our nation’s veterans – can attain meaningful and gainful employment to contribute to their community.

Play: Easterseals provides barrier-free, accessible camping services for children and adults with disabilities, and respite services for caregivers.
