Make the First Five Count
At Easter Seals, we know the first five years of life build the foundation for a child's long-term well-being and overall success.
Because children learn and grow at different rates, even the most attentive parents can miss some important milestones.
As a leading provider of speech-language services, we are here to be your partner in raising a healthy and happy child. We'll help you be aware of the five key growth areas during these critical years before your child starts kindergarten.
Every year, more than a million children will enter school with an undiagnosed developmental delay. We want to change that. We want to ensure all children start kindergarten with the right skills to succeed alongside their peers.
Together we can make the first five count.
Easter Seals offers a free, comprehensive and confidential online screening tool to help guide and keep track of your child's growth and development during these first five years.
Children develop skills and reach milestones at their own pace. How is your child doing? We encourage you to take 10-20 minutes to check with the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition™ (ASQ-3). You can start at any time. Based on your responses, your results will help you see if your child's developmental progress is on track and alert you to any potential concerns that you can talk over with an Easter Seals team member or your health care provider.
We will ask you to come back from time to time to check in and learn more about your child's development over time. You can use this tool when your child is at least 4 weeks old through your child's fifth birthday.
The sooner you address a development delay or special need, the better long-term success you can expect for your child's overall well-being. Early intervention is key.
