Easterseals offeres a free, comprehensive and confidential online screening tool to help guide and keep track of your child's growth and development during the first five year. children develop skills and reach milestones at their own pace. We encourage you to take 10-20 minutes to complete the Ages & Stages Questionnaire Based on your responses, your results will help you see if your child's developmental progress is on time and alert you to any potential concerns.
Diagnostic Process
If you are concerned about your child’s development or you suspect your child has an Autism Spectrum Disorder, Easterseals of Northeast Ohio provides diagnostic services. We provide a focused approach around early identification for children age 2.5 and older. Our team is here to make the process as seamless as possible.

Step 1: Referral
Referrals can be made by a physician or the child's primary caregiver.
Step 2: Diagnostic Assessment
A licensed therapist will conduct a diagnostic interview which will last approximately one hour. During this appointment, we will gather information about your child's development.
Step 3: Developmental Testing
Our clinical team will conduct developmental testing which includes using a play-based assessment tool called the ADOS. They will assess your child’s need for additional testing by a speech or occupational therapist.
Step 4: Diagnostic DeterminationYou will meet with our clinical team to review your child's test results. During this appointment you will have the opportunity to ask questions and review recommendations from our clinical team. They will offer recommendations for next steps in treatment and intervention.
The final step of the assessment process includes meeting with our social worker to link your child to treatment.
