Ninette has a bachelor's and a master's degree in human resource management. Even though she had a successful HR career, her situation changed with her son's autism diagnosis. She stopped working to focus on the needs of her son and to be fully dedicated to seeking all possible help to enable her child to improve and have a quality of life. Supported by her family, therapists, and the Early Steps staff, she helped him reach developmental milestones and significantly improve his outcomes. Her commitment to the Early Steps program led her to accept a part-time job as a Family Resources Specialist in early 2022. Since then, she has been dedicated to helping children, who like her son, has been diagnosed with developmental disabilities or delays. By identifying resources, strengthening ties with the community, keeping families informed of changes, providing relevant information, and participating in networking events and educational activities, Ninette tells her story and attests to why early intervention services in a family-centered setting do make a difference in children and can have a positive long-term effect on their lives.
