What items do you take?
Clothing, blankets, books, clocks, dishes, fabric, irons, jewelry, knickknacks, pictures, pots/pans, purses, shoes, silverware, sporting goods, stereos, toys, rugs and much more. If you have specific questions, please contact us at 1.800.708.2716.

What items don't you take?
Air conditioners, batteries, weapons, large appliances, microwave ovens, damaged furniture, rugs and rug pads, box springs, mattresses, cots, building supplies, cars, car seats, charcoal grills, gas grills, food, hazardous material, magazines, newspapers, organs, pianos, sofa beds, space heaters, tires, water heaters, halogen lamps, cribs, playpens, and carpeting. Do you pick up furniture?
Yes! We will pick up clean, serviceable and undamaged furniture. You must call and schedule an appointment specifically for furniture pick up. Please call 1.800.708.2716 to schedule a pick up.

How do I pack my items?
All clothing should be placed in garbage bags and labeled Easter Seals. Anything breakable should be packed as if you were moving. Small miscellaneous items should be packed in boxes, sealed and labeled Easter Seals.

Where do I put my donations?
Your donation should be labeled and placed curbside or by your curbside mailbox.

When will the items be picked up?
On the day of your pick up, your items should be outside at the curb by 7 a.m. Your donation will be picked up starting at 7 a.m. until the route is completed. Since we schedule hundreds of pick ups a day, we are not able to give you a specific time that we will be at your home.

Where do the profits go?
The proceeds from the bulk sale of the donations will go to Easter Seals Northern Ohio to support programs for children and adults with disabilities.

Will I get a tax receipt?
Yes! The driver will leave a tax receipt on the mail box or in the door. If the receipt blows away or is damaged by the weather, you can request one online using this website. (return to top)

Where can I drop off my donation?
We have several clothing bin locations throughout Northern Ohio.

How often do you come in my area?
We have a regular route schedule and should be in your neighborhood every 4-6 weeks. If you need to schedule a pick-up outside our regular route schedule, please call 1.800.708.2716 to schedule a "Special" pick-up.

What do I do if my donation was not picked up on the scheduled day?
Contact the Easter Seals Community Donation Center between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 1.800.708.2716. We will identify the problem and reschedule your pick up as soon as possible.

Will the driver come inside and pick up my items?
No. Our drivers are not permitted to enter homes. Please leave all items curbside or by your curbside mailbox.

Do you accept yard sale, rummage sale or thrift shop merchandise?
Yes! If you are having a rummage sale and would like Easter Seals to pick up the unsold merchandise, please call 1.800.708.2716 to schedule a special pick up.

Do you pick up in bad weather?
We pick up in all types of weather. If there is a State of Emergency, we will not pick up. If the driver is unable to navigate the truck, we will cancel the route, call the people scheduled for that day and reschedule as soon as possible.
