Olesya Lavigne moved to the United States seven years ago from Ukraine.  She started working with kids as a VPK teacher and fell in love with the creativity, uniqueness, and responsibility involved in working with children.  In order to understand how to help children reach their highest potential, she decided to enhance her knowledge and skills by applying for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Daytona State College, from which she graduated with high honors in May 2013.

Her husband is an English/Language Arts teacher who shares her love of working with children.  Together, they hope to write children's books.

Olesya plans to illustrate, which is one of her favorite past times.  Her other hobbies include crafts, painting, and cooking Ukrainian Cuisine.
