Alternative Financing Solutions

Easterseals Nebraska provides low-interest loans for the purchase of assistive technology devices and services. Assistive technology is any device or service that helps a person with a disability maintain or increase independence or overcome a barrier to employment.

Camp, Respite & Recreation

Easterseals Nebraska week-long summer camps, weekend respite camps and daycamps provide the same excitement, joys, challenges and activity available at other programs in a fully-accessible setting. We accept campers with any disability and ages 5-100+. Campers gain independence and social interaction skills while participating in a variety of fun, adapted activities.

Services for Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Easterseals Nebraska provides comprehensive benefits planning services to individuals served by Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NCBVI).

Work Incentives Planning and Assistance

Nebraska Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) helps Social Security disability beneficiaries understand and use available work incentives, allowing individuals to enter or re-enter the workforce while protecting their eligibility for cash benefits and/or health care benefits until they can become self-sufficient. 

Nebraska Ticket to Work

Nebraska Ticket to Work is a free employment services program developed by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Easterseals Nebraska works with the SSA as an Employment Network to offer this program to individuals who are receiving Social Security disability benefits and who are interested in obtaining or advancing in employment. 

Services for Nebraska VR

Easterseals Nebraska provides comprehensive Benefits Planning Services to individuals served by Nebraska VR. Services include comprehensive and individualized analysis of the impact of employment on SSA cash benefits and other public benefits, work incentives education and management, finance 101 education and more!

National Resources

Easterseals services for youth and young adults provides individualized, community-based programming and in-school supports to foster independent living as they transition with disabilities into the workforce or into post-secondary education. We support each student so they can achieve their goals for the next chapter in their lives by emphasizing adult daily living and social skills, as well as health and wellness.

Transition programs are led by Easterseals staff, coordinators, mentors, and specialists who are experts in helping youth and young adults navigate what can often be a challenging and confusing time in life. We are there to ensure each student is set up for success and is prepared to leverage every opportunity to build a fulfilling and purposeful future in a nurturing, compassionate environment.

Services include:

  • Advocacy for youth and families to assist them in preparing for their futures
  • Support groups, networking, and social events
  • Referrals to community resources
  • Support and education to apply for a job, college or university; handling personal finances, maintaining healthy relationships, finding a home, securing transportation, and other essential living needs.
  • Mentorships designed to improve community involvement, relationship building, self-esteem, confidence, and mental health are available.
  • Recreational activities are offered to develop friendships and a sense of empowerment.
