Easterseals Florida is seeking an Exceptional Student Education Teacher Assistant to join our team in our newest program, The School for Limitless Learning. With its play-based curriculum and inclusive approach to education for children who are neurodiverse or have other related disabilities, this new private school represents a significant milestone in our community. The Teacher Assistant is dedicated to providing essential support in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children during summer camp and throughout the school year.

Basic Responsibilities:

A snapshot of what you'll do during summer camp and throughout the school year:

  • Provide a positive, safe, stimulating, and inclusionary learning environment
  • Design and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities
  • Provide constant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of each child within the learning center
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and families
  • Work collaboratively with other educators and staff to promote a positive and cohesive team environment
  • Screen and assess children to determine developmental and educational needs

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field with coursework (preferred or not required)
  • A Florida Staff Credential (one of the following):
    • Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC),
    • Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC),
    • National Early Childhood Credential (CDA/NECC), or
    • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development
  • Successful completion of the Florida Department of Children & Families 45-hour Child Care Training
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
