Summary:

Monday through Friday ONLY, no nights, no weekends

Salary will be $18.00 per hour - Full-Time 37.5 hours per week, plus benefits

Easterseals Florida is searching for a creative, details-oriented, and caring individual for the Activities Director position at the Day Break adult day healthcare center in Winter Park. With our program catering to a manageable group of 30 to 40 clients, you can make a profound positive impact on their daily lives.

Day Break serves adults (18yrs and older) who have disabilities, including dementia related disorders. Employees receive discounted services, which makes this is a perfect position for someone who is a caregiver themselves.

Basic Responsibilities:

A snapshot of what you'll do:

  • Develop, disseminate, and implement the monthly calendar of activities
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor participation in community outings, and special events
  • Provide quality recreational, therapeutic, social, and informative activities
  • Provide a safe, stimulating, and fun-filled day
  • Motivate clients and promote client interaction
  • Supervises one employee and volunteers
  • Provide personal care to clients, assisting with daily living activities (toileting, bathing, ambulating, transfers, feeding, and changing of clothes)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social or health services field, or an associate degree in a related field plus two years of experience providing care to persons with disabilities, dementia or other memory related disorders
  • If you have a Bachelor's degree, we do not require experience
  • A creative person who can bring fun and engaging experiences to our clients
  • An innovative contributor who can ensure activities are purposeful, meaningful, and stimulating activities
  • An energetic creative and professional individual who will portray and promote a positive, respectful, and team-based environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours within the center's hours of operation (7:00 am to 5:30 pm), to meet the needs of the program
