Adult Day Training is dedicated to fostering the development and enhancement of essential life skills, empowering individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to live more independent and fulfilling lives. Through this program, participants are provided with the opportunity to improve their daily living skills while expanding their social network in a supportive and inclusive setting. The program is designed to help individuals explore their interests, engage in meaningful activities, and build connections with others, all within a safe and welcoming environment. By focusing on personal growth and socialization, Adult Day Training plays a key role in promoting independence, self-confidence, and a sense of community for every participant
The participants of the program enjoy getting involved in the various activities Adult Day Training has to offer. Activities vary from day-to-day, incorporated with activities and classes that are requested from participants of the program via a monthly Consumer Council. Classes during each month include, but are not limited to: cooking classes, library outings, guy's and ladies' Day Out, volunteering opportunities, social skills classes, and reading classes.
We have annual Summer Trips that are determined by individuals of the program; past destinations of our trips include: a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, a Chicago Cubs baseball game in Cincinnati, Ohio, and relaxing at a beach house in Savannah, Georgia. We have other scheduled trips throughout the year, such as outings to Marion, IL to see the Marion Miner's play baseball, Sikeston, MO for lunch at Lambert's Café, and to parks & attractions that our surrounding area has to offer.
