Autism and ABA

ABA is the most commonly effective treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD),  helping children develop skills to respond more effectively to their environment. While it does not cure ASD, it significantly improves the ability to communicate and engage socially.  Autism is a spectrum disorder, meaning each individual has unique strengths and challenges, which families and clinical teams work together to identify.  ABA uses evidence based techniques, such as positive reinforcement and task analysis, to increase skills and reduce challenging behaviors.

At Easterseals Tennessee, we use methods like Verbal Behavior, Discrete Trial Training, and Natural Environment Training to support each child's learning and development.

How can ABA help my child?

ABA can support your child in developing essential learning, social, language, and independence skills.  It is also effective in reducing challenging behaviors that can impact their ability to fully participate in the community.  Additionally, ABA helps with self-management, fine and gross motor skills, toilet training, food aversions, and increasing independence in self-feeding.
