Mary Cooper Legacy Society

You can be a hero to future generations

Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania’s newly named Mary Cooper Legacy Society honors a woman whose vision has created opportunities for us to not only sustain but also expand our work in service to the more than 3,600 children and young adults with disabilities – and their families – who rely on Easterseals for help, hope and answers annually.

The Mary Cooper Legacy Society honors individuals who have included Easterseals in their will, trust or other charitable planned gifts. For almost 100 years, legacies and bequests have played an important part in funding many of the Easterseals’ programs that give people with disabilities the ability to live, work and play in their communities.

When attorney Mary Cooper named Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania as a beneficiary in her will several decades ago, she did so knowing that her gift would help provide for the future of an organization whose mission she deeply valued. What Mary could not have known is how her thoughtful planning and generosity would result in a significant gift being realized in the middle of a worldwide pandemic when its impact would be even more deeply felt.

Some of the easiest ways YOU can be a hero like Mary to future generations of Easterseals families are by naming us in your will or living trust; or as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy. Every gift, regardless of size, will have a lasting impact!

As a member of the Mary Cooper Legacy Society, you will find yourself among a circle of friends who share your commitment to our mission, and ensuring essential services will be available to children and adults with disabilities when they need them now and years down the road right here in our community.
