Tax Credit Support (EITC)

The Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) provides Pennsylvania tax credits to offset the tax of a business (or business owner) that makes a qualified charitable contribution benefiting Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania. EITC allows businesses to receive a 75%-90% credit on their state income tax for the contributions they make to Easterseals through this program. The tax credit is taken in the year the contribution is made. Instead of sending dollars outside of our community as taxes, businesses can keep them local to benefit our employment program for high school students and our residential summer camp.

Additional information is available online at www.dced.pa.gov (type EITC in the search box) or by calling the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) at 717-787-7120.

Two of our programs qualify for EITC - Easterseals Camp Growing Green and LEAP, both helping teens prepare for jobs and independence. Download our EITC brochure for more information.

Business Application Start Dates:
May 15 – Businesses who have their 2-year commitment and wish to renew
May 15 – Businesses who are in the middle of their 2-year commitment
July 1 – All other businesses

Because of the popularity of the program, businesses are encouraged to apply for the credits as early as possible (on the application date). However, applications are encouraged throughout the year as unallocated credits usually become available.
