Work

Easterseals offers a range of training, placement and related services that help people prepare for the workforce—because meaningful work is often the key to overcoming challenges and having a good life.

Update about Services
In August 2020, we made the decision to suspend offering employment services for adults and youth. For several years, we worked to establish these programs in our service area. However, there exists a lot of instability and uncertainty in the vocational rehabilitation landscape that is out of our control. Even more uncertainty manifested with the COVID-19 pandemic. The combination of these circumstances makes it impossible for us to sustain the program at this time. Easterseals Eastern PA is doing well during the pandemic and we must leverage the strength of the organization to position it to meet the needs of the community today, tomorrow and in years to come.

LEAP
LEAP is a 4-week comprehensive employment preparation program for youth with disabilities, ages 16-21, who attend school and are eager to work and earn a paycheck. It combines workplace and independent living skills instruction with real work experience to provide participants with the skills they need to transition successfully into adulthood.

Easterseals Camp Growing Green
Easterseals Camp Growing Green is our overnight summer camp held on the beautiful campus of the Pocono Environmental Education Center. Campers gain environmental awareness and enjoy traditional camp activities like hiking, canoeing, sports, and arts & crafts. Campers may participate in a hands-on employment exploration experience, spending part of each day exploring different career tracks. Easterseals Camp Growing Green runs for 6 weeks each summer and campers attend for one or more weeks. For ages 10 to adult.
