What can CHAMP do for me?

Through home modifications, CHAMP provides people with disabilities and low income families the opportunity to enjoy a safe, barrier free home in the community. Home modifications can include building a ramp, installing grab bars, widening doors and more

How Can I Qualify?

ESCT has three funding sources for the CHAMP program from the City of Austin, Texas Veterans Commission and Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.  Applicants living within the City of Austin city limits must be below 80% of the area median income, have a clear title of the house, and provide evidence of home insurance to be eligible for home repairs and home modifications.

Applicants must be at or below 80% of the area median income.  In order to qualify, the house must pass an inspection to verify no health and safety issues are present.

Honorably discharged veterans or their spouse living within the Austin city limits or within one of the counties listed below may apply for the Housing for Texas Heroes Program. Applicants must have a verifiable disability with the USVA or be at or below 80% of the area median income.
