Supported Employment

Supported Employment assists clients in both obtaining and maintaining community-based employment.  A job developer supports clients in determining employment opportunities they are interested in and in finding a job.  Job developers also support clients to fill out applications, prepare resumes and perfect interview skills.   Once a job is obtained, a job coach assists clients to learn job responsibilities, the culture and values of the work environment, job accommodations and explaining how employment affects their benefits. Supported Employment serves adults age 18 and older who are diagnosed with a developmental and/or intellectual disability in Polk and surrounding counties.

Funding Accepted: Amerigroup, Iowa Total Care, Fee for Service/HIPP Medicaid Waiver and Private Pay. Funding is also accepted through Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services if the individual is of transitional age, 18-24.

Apply for this program by completing our Program Application and emailing it to Intake Coordinator Renee Bell at rbell@eastersealsia.org or calling 515-309-1783.  Case managers should also send social history, plan and assessment along with the application.
