Homes for Heroes Donation Helps Easterseals Oregon Serve Veteran Families

May is Military Appreciation Month. In honor of the many veterans Easterseals Oregon serves each day, Homes for Heroes Foundation has donated $10,000 to help us provide additional services to those who have given so much. The Easterseals Supportive Services for Veteran Families program helps secure stable housing for veterans and their families, but the needs don’t stop there. This gift from Homes for Heroes will allow us to provide Welcome Home boxes to newly housed veteran families, including items such as dish and laundry soap, towels, sheets, blankets and the myriad other items needed to furnish a home.

Easterseals Oregon's services for veterans need your support!

While much of our funding for housing and job assistance for veterans comes from federal grants, there are many needs that federal funds are not allowed to cover. Moving a veteran and their family into stable housing is a huge first step, but then comes the stress and expense of setting up a new household. Items such as sheets, towels, dishes, silverware, vacuums, shower curtains, etc. cannot be purchased with federal grant funds, which is where the community comes in. These items, as well as gas and gift cards for other expenses, are critical to helping a family get established.

Please consider supporting our veteran programs with a gift today!

Please use the Gift Designation section to specify Veterans and Families Programs. Thank you for helping us give back to those who have given so much for all of us!
