Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program

HVRP provides services to assist veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Our program helps them reintegrate into their communities and find meaningful employment. We also provide veterans with the tools they need to gain new skill sets, such as financial literacy, computer training, job search training, and interview guidance. Veterans learn skills to retain employment and become financially independent. The U.S. Department of Labor funds this program.  

Program Services include:

  • Career exploration, skills assessment, employability skills. 

    • Job readiness and support services: vocational counseling & guidance, training opportunities, employability workshops, job search assistance, and support addressing barriers to successful employment. 

    • Follow up and connect with staff for an entire year after employment. 

Referral Sources:

  • All human service providers or organizations who work with Veterans and individuals or families facing homelessness.

    • Walk-in inquiries are generally welcome, but due to COVID-19, we ask that you contact us in advance. 

Participant Eligibility*:

  • Homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Veteran of the United States Armed Forces
  • Ready to work with us to make a change in their life!

Eligibility Requirements*:

  • Veteran: A person who has served active duty in the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or Reserve Component (National Guard and Reserve) and whose discharge or release is other than dishonorable.  

    • Homeless: This grant follows the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and the definition of a homeless individual. 

    • Employment-ready: We are looking to assist eligible individuals in gaining meaningful employment. People who are serious about working and ready to partner with us to remove barriers. 

Easterseals will help with:

  • Individualized support based on specific needs. 

    • Employment support services like job-related equipment and reasonable expenses (clothing, transportation, toiletries or food, etc.) 

    • Training and remedial education, job preparation services, trade certification, and licensing assistance. 

    • Assistance finding shelter, transitional, and permanent housing. 

    • Referral to community partners for other services or treatment.
