1. Take one day at a time.
2. Educate yourself about caregiving, about the disease/illness, about resources in your community.
3. Accept help when offered; ask for help when needed.
4. Take time for yourself; find the balance…. Not selfish, not selfless, but self-FULL.
5. Maintain your heath—get adequate sleep, eat a balanced diet, exercise your body and mind.
6. Pray for patience and understanding from yourself, your loved ones, your family, your friends, everyone.
7. Don’t judge yourself; the enemy is the illness/disease.
8. Socialize as much as possible; join a support group; learn from other caregivers.
9. Take a few minutes each day to be thankful; express your gratitude.
10. Laugh often.
