Quality Child Care for Children of All Abilities

A child’s environment and social experience in their first three years of life is critical to their brain development and can have a decisive, long-lasting impact on their well-being and ability to learn. For many parents, this is enough to make finding high-quality childcare a top priority. The Easterseals Child Development Center Network responds to the needs and concerns of parents with children of all abilities.

Child Care at Easterseals:

Child care is available for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in our program. Inclusive childcare is provided in three learning environments at Easterseals Regional Pediatric Center located at 212 Barney Drive in Joliet.

Infant Room/ 6 Weeks to 24 Months

The infant program at Easterseals Joliet Region Early Childhood Center is designed to create a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where infants are encouraged to learn, grow, and explore using all of their senses! Rapid development happens during the first year of life and therefore it is essential that our teachers provide stimulating activities to encourage optimal development.

Two Room and Young 3s

In this room, we encourage free play and structured activities geared to the young preschool age group.

Preschool - 3-5 Years Old Room

In this room, we emphasize free play and gross motors skills and development.

For children with special needs, Easterseals Joliet Region Early Childhood Center offers the additional benefit of having our team of experienced therapists just down the hall and the opportunity for therapy during the day.

Easterseals Joliet Region Early Childhood Center has implemented “The Creative Curriculum”. The philosophy of The Creative Curriculum is that young children learn best by doing. They believe that all children learn through active exploration of their environment and therefore the environment plays a critical role in learning. The goal of Creative Curriculum is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners by actively exploring their environment.
The planned activities for the children, the organization of the environment, the selection of toys and materials, planning the daily schedule and interacting with the children are all designed to accomplish the goals and objectives of the curriculum and give your child a successful learning experience.
The learning environment is arranged into nine interest areas to create a positive atmosphere: art, music & movement, discovery (science), outdoors, dramatic play (housekeeping), toys & games (manipulative), library (quiet area), sand & water, and blocks.
The richer the environments, the more concrete opportunities there are for children to learn by interacting with materials and people. The teacher’s role is to create an environment that invites children to observe, to be active, to make choices, and to experiment.
