Caregiver Story October 2018

I met my husband in 2004 and he didn't show any signs of the disease [Alzheimer's disease]. As years went by, he then needed a walker because of his failing sight. Then he started having memory loss. Now he doesn't eat a whole lot, wears a diaper, and sleeps a lot during the day, and up most of the night. The hardest part is seeing him depressed; it's almost like he's giving up.

I shave him and do everything I can for him. I have no help from family members, so it is very difficult for me. I pray every day for strength and help; reading my Bible keeps me going.
