Summer Camp 2021

Easterseals Camp Growing Green: Karissa Hensel CampDirectorKarissaGG

Hello! My name is Karissa and I will be your camp director this summer! This is my seventh summer working at camp and the fifth summer running the show! My love for camp and Easterseals grows every year and I hope the same for all of you! When I am not at camp, I work for the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 as an associate teacher for the Therapeutic Emotional Support program. My favorite animal is frogs and cacti are my favorite plants. I have a deep love for crocs and the color red! Finally, I have a 2-year-old pup named Cali who is the light of my life!

Easterseals Camp Growing Green takes place at the Pocono Environmental Education Center, also known as PEEC. This is a beautiful center where we get to learn about nature and experience it firsthand all around us. Some of our activities include: canoeing, hiking, pond ecology, baking, arts and crafts, and sports. This year, I am excited to introduce something new: a slip n’ slide! Prepare to get wet and laugh a lot! I am also super excited for the weekly themes we have planned and hope you will join the fun in bringing them to life. I don’t want to give them all away, but here are a few: mythical creatures, space exploration, and fun in the sun. Summer camp is a great experience for all our awesome campers and together we make some incredible memories to share with our friends and family! My top goal is to give everyone an awesome summer camper experience, so grab your hiking shoes, beach towel and bug spray, and join us for summer to remember! I cannot wait to meet you all soon!

Camp Lily Berks: Trisha Herrera CampDirectorTrishaBerks

Hello! My name is Trisha and I will be your camp director this summer! This is my third summer working at Camp Lily as the camp director and I am excited to begin another summer of fun! During the non-summer months, I am a first grade teacher and I also work for Easterseals in their Hang Time recreation program. I am a very proud mom to six amazing children. My husband and I have two daughters and four sons. I am also a fur momma to one dog and one cat. For fun, I like to take fitness classes with my friends, go on walks/hikes and read.

Camp Lily Berks is nestled at the top of the beautiful Mt. Penn and features an air conditioned indoor space, play areas, swings, garden beds, pavilions, swimming pool and extensive outdoor space. Some of the activities we will have include swimming, arts and crafts, sports, exercise, gardening, and nutrition. We will have weekly themes jam packed with super fun activities! Some of the themes this year will be mythical creatures, space exploration, and fun in the sun. I am very eager for you to lead with your strengths and talents in order to bring camp to life. Let’s make this a summer to remember!

Camp Lily Lehigh Valley: Janine Noel CampDirectorJanineLV

Hello! My name is Janine and this will be my second year as director of Camp Lily Lehigh Valley. During the school year, I am an associate teacher at Nazareth Area High School. I am obsessed with elephants, The Muppets, all things Disney and anything written by Stephen King. In my free time, I love to read, watch Netflix, play Fishdom on my phone, have scary movie marathons with my sister, and go hiking with my boyfriend, Chris.

I am very excited to lead the first summer of holding Camp Lily on the campus of Cedar Crest College. I think we are going to have a great time discovering all the potential this space has to offer. This year, you can look forward to six weeks jam packed with swimming, art lessons, arts & crafts, cooking lessons, jewelry making, journaling, reading, sports, games and special guests. I can’t wait to dive into our weekly themes: Party in the USA, Outer Space, Imagination, Around the World, Wild Animals and Camping. So get your swimsuits and sunscreen ready and join me at Camp Lily Lehigh Valley!
