The ASD Parent Mentor Program

The ASD Parents Mentor Program is composed of parents of children with autism who have been trained and supplied with resource materials in English and Spanish. These mentors provide peer support as well as up-to-date, accessible information on ASD to inform and empower other parents to become their child's best teachers and advocates.

Camp Harmon

Camp Harmon is a residential camp for children and adults with disabilities, ages 8-65. Campers attend 6 or 8 day sessions and participate in nature, farm and garden, arts and crafts, swimming, and many other activities.

Strengthening Special Families

Strenghtening Special Families is a home visitation program that teaches parents of young children how to play with and relate to their child to help the child progress more rapidly through the typical developmental stages of early childhood. Parents also participate in trainings and discussions groups to share experiences. This program is active in Monterey County.

SibShops

SibShops are workshops specifically designed to meet the unique needs of typically-developing siblings (ages 8-13) of children with disabilities or special needs. A lively, action packed, four-hour workshop that mixes information and discussion activities with new games, an opportunity to make new friends and share experiences with other kids who can relate to their situation. This program is active in Monterey County and San Benito County.

Stepping Stones Triple P

Stepping Stones Triple P, a specialized component of Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), offers parenting support for families with children with special needs, such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome and other developmental delays. Developed in Australia, Triple P is supported by over 30 years of research and is now used in 22 countries and over 20 states.  Triple P is designed to help parents develop a more positive relationship with their child, gain confidence to handle challenging behaviors and prevent them before they begin, and build a stronger and happier family unit. This program is active in Santa Cruz County.
