Off to the races with Epsilon Sigma Alpha

ESA duck races at camp 4Here at ESO, we just wrapped up our summer camp sessions for 2018. A great time was had by all again this year, campers and staff alike. Occasionally, in addition to all of the planned activities and adventures, folks from here or there will drop by with a special activity for the campers.

This year, several women from the local Epsilon Sigma Alpha group brought a flock of rubber duckies to camp for the campers to decorate and race down the stream. We wish to thank Donna Cassidy, Terri Taylor, Pat Stuper, Karen McNeil and Margaret Dragoon, for bringing all the supplies and assisting each camper with decking out their duck to make a unique, personal artistic creation.

ESA duck races at camp 1When all the ducks were in a row, they were released from the bridge over the stream and the race was on. As the adorned ducks headed downstream, everyone rooted for their own duck as the current swept them away. In the end, it was unclear who won, but a great time was had by all nonetheless (a few of them didn't want to "go with the flow" and ended up snuggled next to twigs or branches).

Thank you ladies for bringing a fun activity to camp!
