Lea Schultz joined the Easterseals Board of Directors as a client representative in the fall of 2021. She has Down Syndrome and has enjoyed a long history of involvement with the Easterseals organization. Beginning in 1993, shortly after Lea was born, she began receiving therapy services from Easterseals at the Barney Drive location including during her enrollment in the Easterseals Day Care Program until three years old. She spent her school career in the Plainfield School District where she was one of the first individuals with special needs to be fully included in a regular education classroom K-5. After completing high school and post-secondary education in the school district, Lea returned to Easterseals as a volunteer in the administrative office. Lea has also held several part-time jobs in the Joliet/Plainfield community, most notably her sales position at Goodwill in Plainfield, which she has enjoyed for the past six years and counting.

In her free time Lea enjoys listening to music, dancing, coloring, baking, watching Netflix, and exploring aromatherapy. She is also an avid Harry Potter fan. She currently lives with her parents Ralph and Trish Schultz, and her cat Houdini.
