Johana started in Easterseals School to Work program and then began in GSE (Group Supported Employment) in 2002, following her graduation from high school. Her work experience at Easterseals includes a variety of assembly and bindery tasks, sorting papers in Enviro Shred, cleaning at the Veterans Home in Rocky Hill and the Middletown Weigh Station, and stocking shelves at CVS.

Johana started at our Easterseals social enterprise, EnviroClean, at the State Library at Van Block in Hartford, CT in 2018.  EnviroClean provides employment, training, and rehabilitation opportunities for individuals with disabilities. She consistently works three days a week and has developed many skills. Her daily janitorial duties include sweeping, wiping mirrors, tables, and chairs, mopping floors, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, refilling soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers and disinfecting all touchpoints—especially important these days!  She is highly motivated, works hard, follows instructions well and consistently does an excellent job!! She knows the routine well and all tasks without prompting and supervision are provided for her safety and encouragement.  She is a highly productive employee—way to go, Johana!
