We are in the process of developing some new programs targeted specifically for individuals on the Autism Spectrum to get and keep jobs. We are collabrorating with community partners and employers to provide unique opportunities for training in the community for middle school and high school students. These opportunities will include job readiness training, social skills enhancement training, and job sampling. We hope to work with students in middle school and high school in this effort.
Young Adults on the Spectrum meets monthly for fellowship and fun. Our next outing is a group night with the Greenjackets on June 9. We encourage all young adults ages 17-30 to join us for outings throughout the CSRA. For information on this program please call 706-667-9695. The United Way of the CSRA and GVRA are partners with us in this program. This is a great way to make new friends and let parents and caregivers get information about life planning programs for their family members.
Champions for Children is a program designed to help families with medically fragile or disabled children find new resources for their developmental and other needs. Services are available for youngsters from birth to age 18. For eligibility details, please call Leigh Kilpatrick at 706-667-9695. Many families use their resources through this program for education related services. Call and see if you qualify.
