Ferry Orthodontics Scavenger Hunt Raises Over $13,000 for Children & Young Adults with Disabilities & Special Needs

Wakefield, RI — Ferry Orthodontics hosted its very first Scavenger Hunt throughout South County this October. Over 40 teams gathered on October 12th, for the Ferry Orthodontics Scavenger Hunt which raised over $13,000 for Easter Seals RI.

Nearly 150 people, deciphered clues and made their way through South County while they searched for random items in specific locations throughout Wakefield and Narragansett. At the end of the hunt, everyone gathered at Matunuck Community Association for a post hunt celebration complete with food, drinks, music, a raffle and silent auction, and games for all ages.

Many local businesses including Ferry Orthodontics, South County Commons, Dennis Moffit Painting, Denali Wakefield, Arnold Lumber, Clean Rite, Threadz, Kohl’s, and Brickley’s Ice Cream participated in the Scavenger Hunt either as a sponsor, or as a stop along the route.

“What we've done is incorporated a lot of local businesses and families,” said Dr. Michael Ferry of Ferry Orthodontics. “The businesses have been fantastic. The outpouring of generosity has blown us away. This is what it is about: local families and local businesses giving back to families that need help. It has really been amazing.”

Congratulations to our top three teams Right Click, URI Rotaract Club, and Arnold Lumber and to the best themed team Mews Tavern who were dressed as Duck Dynasty. Honorable mention goes to Team Akela who rescued a disabled motorist along the way.
