Easterseals is changing how America understands disability. More than 1 in 4 people in the U.S. have a disability—over 70 million people. That makes disability our largest minority group. 

You probably know someone with a disability, such as coworkers, neighbors, or family. Maybe you. People with disabilities deserve the same urgency, respect, and investment as anyone else. That includes access to resources.  

Disability touches everyone. The more people understand disability, the better we can build a world where everyone is valued, respected, and accepted.

Know the Facts: Not Everything Has to Divide Us 

There is common ground. When more than 1 in 4 Americans have a disability (CDC): 

• Disability is Nonpartisan: Disability cuts across all races, demographics, politics, and geography (NPR).
• Disability is Connection: You already know, work with, and care about people with disabilities, whether they've shared their disability with you or not (Coqual).
• Disability is Relatable: Disability shapes how millions of Americans approach work, school, and daily tasks (SenseIT).
