Easterseals receives grant for Veterans program

Easterseals Central Texas received a Texas Veterans + Family Alliance one year grant $801,341 to help improve the quality of life of Texas veterans and their families in Travis, Bastrop, Hays and Williamson counties.  The program will help veterans and veteran households to learn about supportive services in their community, including mental health and education. We have partnered with Capital IDEA and Samaritan Center, who are leading industry service providers in these areas.  Samaritan Center will be providing 2,550 counseling sessions.

Capital IDEA will be providing a 2-year college degree program for an estimated 20 veterans or veteran household members to assist them in obtaining cutting-edge skills for successful employment.  Our collaboration will be serving over 660 veterans and their family members beginning June 2, 2017.  Additionally, Easterseals will be hosting community convening’s and inviting all veteran service providers to attend in the four-county area. The purpose is identifying veterans needs and service delivery models.

Easterseals is proud to work with Capial IDEA and Samaritan Center on this vital program.
