“Red, White & Brew” Raised Over $27,000 for Easter Seals Rhode Island

Thanks to generous sponsors, wine and beer distributors, local restaurants and guests, the Easter Seals Rhode Island Red, White & Brew wine and beer pairing event, held on Saturday, February 23, at the Haversham in Westerly, was a great success raising, over $27,000 to benefit children and young adults with special needs and disabilities.

Snowstorm Nemo may have postponed the event once, but guests wouldn’t allow the wet weather to be a factor for the rescheduled date. Nearly 150 people attended the event and enjoyed the pairings of delicious varietal wines and beers along with tempting appetizers. In addition to the food and beverage options, guests received a Riedel crystal stem and were graced by the sweet sounds of Matty B. and his saxophone.

This year’s event was sponsored by Homestar Mortgage, The Washington Trust Company, Liberty Rentals, O’Neill Consulting Group, LLC., A Quick Tire, Gencorp/Pike Insurance, Sheldon Sports Agency, Southern RI Newspapers, B101 FM, and Coast 93.3 FM. In conjunction with our event sponsors we would like to acknowledge our beer and wine distributors and food sponsors including Pier Liquors, Jonathan Edwards Winery, McLaughlin and Moran, Inc., Grey Sail Brewing, The Haversham Tavern, The Breachway Grill, The Twisted Vine, Wildwood Catering, Five90 Café and Catering, Matunuck Oyster Bar, Mariner Grille, Casa Della Luce, Sweet Cakes Bakery & Café, Chocolate Dreams, and Excellent Coffee Company.

The live and silent auctions provided guests with an assortment of great trips and packages to choose from including a Sonoma Wine Country get-a-way for two, a wedding party package, “Sophisticated Gentleman’s” package of high end cigars and a scotch tour, jewelry, elegant art work, and an auto care package including a set of four tires and a car detailing.

Proceeds from the Red, White and Brew benefit Easter Seals Rhode Island Early Intervention and Pediatric Outpatient programs.
