Our speech and language pathologists treat patients of all ages with a wide range of diagnoses, including:

  • Autism
  • Social communication deficits
  • Speech articulation
  • Expressive and receptive language
  • Problems with cognition and memory
  • Aphasia
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Dysarthria

A person might benefit from speech therapy if they are experiencing any of the following concerns:

For language:

  • Cannot think of the right word or uses the wrong word in sentences
  • Family members report increased difficulty understanding what is being said

For swallowing:

  • Coughs or clears throat frequently when eating
  • Has difficulty chewing or has feed left in mouth after swallowing

These services require a referral from a provider and are available to individuals who have a medically necessary reason for services and are currently offered in the Greater Hartford Area.
