Mews Tavern Hosts 15th Annual Gear ‘N’ Beer Road Race

Wakefield, RI -- The Mews Tavern Gear ‘N’ Beer 6.9K road race will be held on Sunday, November 23, at 12pm. This year marks the 15thanniversary of the road race, and Mews Tavern is working hard to make it extra special for runners and spectators.

Last year, the Gear ‘N’ Beer 5K sold out with over 2,000 runners, hundreds of supporters and raising $80,000 for Easter Seals RI. This year, Mews Tavern is looking to do it again, but better.

They have increased the route to 6.9K – really making the runners go “the extra mile” for Easter Seals. More food, more microbrews, and more raffle items will be added to this year’s event to ensure everyone who attends will have a special and memorable time. Mews Tavern has also created a commemorative t-shirt that will be available for purchase through online registration and on race day.

As in year’s past, participants can register online at www.easterseals.com/rhodeisland, as well as view the new route map. Registration currently is $45 per person, and will increase to $47 per person on race day.

Runners can pick up their bib and a pint of beer on Saturday, November 22, from 1-3pm at Mews Tavern in Wakefield, RI, and race day registration will be open from 10-11:45am.

Easter Seals RI provides exceptional services to ensure that children and young adults with disabilities or special needs and their families have an equal opportunity to live, learn, work and play in their communities. Last year, Easter Seals RI served over 500 children through Early Intervention services and the Outpatient program.
