Given that COVID-19 presents a high risk to people with disabilities, older adults, and others with complex medical conditions, we know just how important it is that we all work together and do what we can to keep each other healthy and safe. Use and share these resources as the pandemic continues to impact our communities.
Disability and Racial Equity
Easterseals is proud to advocate for societal and systemic equality for all people. One in four Americans today are living with disability, and of those, one in four are Black Americans. We recognize the nuanced and challenging barriers that exist for many minorities and the need to heighten awareness of the disparities they often experience in their access to healthcare, employment, and education.
Camping and Recreation
As the largest provider of recreation and camping services for children and adults with disabilities in the country, we're proud to offer residential and day camps that are barrier-free and designed to be accessible to everyone.
Easterseals offers short-term or temporary care for loved ones so that their caregivers can take a much-needed break, including adult day services, inclusive childcare, camping and recreation and more.
Adult Day Services
Adult day services provide a place outside the home for older adults and younger adults with all types of disabilities so they can be active in the community, socialize with their peers, and receive needed health and personal care services.
We offer a comprehensive set of services that allow adults and seniors with significant physical or cognitive impairments to live independently at home or with a friend or family member. The services offered ensure the safe environment needed for individuals to remain at home rather than in an institutionalized setting such as a nursing home.
We address the spectrum of transportation needs that allow people with disabilities and older Americans to fully participate in their communities.
