Empowering People for More Than 100 Years  

Easterseals has been helping families and caregivers for more than a century. At least 70% of families in our network use more than one service. This reflects what expert caregiving actually looks like: 

• Whole person care:  Whole person care means feeling good physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Families get different kinds of help from Easterseals based on multiple needs, which can lead to better well-being. 
• Better use of resources: Using many services helps families use their resources well. As caregiving partners, we coordinate across services so families get the help they need without wasting time looking elsewhere.
• Improved outcomes: Getting many services can help families be healthier and happier. For example, getting help with social skills and mental health can help children do better in school and feel better. 
• Stronger community ties: When Easterseals can connect families to different services, our caregiving extends into the broader community—connecting with groups for things like rides, housing, and food. More of us working together means we can help more families across the country.
• Growing and improving programs: Knowing that families use many services helps us strengthen our caregiving model and make better programs. This makes it easier for families to get the help they need.

A Network of Support  

Easterseals started as one site in Ohio. More than 100 years later, Easterseals has expanded to 48 states in the United States, reaching thousands of communities.  

We make a lasting impact on millions of people every year because of caring donors, partners, and others who believe in helping families thrive. Even though things have changed a lot in the last century, people with disabilities still experience many obstacles to living a healthy life. We also recognized that more could be done for aging populations, veterans, and caregivers. Easterseals continues to support people with unwavering compassion and care.
