13th Annual Walk With Me Rhode Island Raises Over $22,000

Wakefield, RI — The 13th Annual Walk With Me Rhode Island benefiting Easter Seals RI programs and services was an evening to remember, not only for Easter Seals but for all participants and sponsors too. Nearly 200 dedicated supporters attended the twilight Walk at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick on Thursday, May 7, and raised nearly $22,000 for children and young adults who receive services from Easter Seals RI.

In addition to the scenery, guests enjoyed opening ceremonies hosted by Patricia Raskin of Positive Living, a consumer moment with Early Intervention client Sam and his Mom Vanessa, appearances by Joey the kangaroo from Launch and Paws from the Pawtucket Red Sox, entertainment by Kenny Kool Light and Sound, and give-a-ways from our amazing sponsors and vendors such as CVS Health and their dunk tank, Century 21 Access America, Mass Mutual, A.C. Moore, Tutor Doctor, Dave & Buster’s, Jennifer Wilkicki Chair Massages, Right Response, and pony rides from C&L Stables. Much appreciation for the support and delicious food from Cabot Creamery, Roch’s Fresh Fruits, Uncle Tony’s Pizza, The Corner Bakery, and Katy’s Goodness.

Over 22 teams registered for the Walk including so many new teams such as Jeremy’s Team, The Corner Bakery, Kevin’s Quest, and Footsteps for Hope.

“The support we receive from participants, businesses and our sponsors is a vital part to the success of the programs offered at Easter Seals RI,” said Judy Fortier, Director of Development. “It is incredible to see the level of support in this community for children with disabilities and special needs. Thank you to everyone who participated in this event!”

If you were unable to attend the Walk and still have donations to turn in, it’s not too late! The money raised supports Easter Seals RI programs and services and ensures that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.
