Mandy Farr
Family Resource Coordinator
Easter Seals Arkansas (Little Rock)

Mandy Farr is the Family Resource Coordinator at Easter Seals Arkansas and is on the team for the High Risk Infant Monitoring Program (IMP). She is inspired by working with families with premature infants, in order to create a unique path for their individual child’s circumstances.

Easter Seals Arkansas is the only place in the state that follows a premature baby and family from the hospital to home. Farr assists the families enrolled in the IMP program to make sure that they follow through with their child’s medical appointments and understand all the components of their child’s health care plan.

Farr recalls a time when a baby girl was born at 27 weeks and weighed just 1 lb. and 11 oz. After the baby spent a month in the NICU on a ventilator, she was discharged home and started the Easter Seals High Risk IMP. Farr worked closely with the family to assist the mom in navigating through the financial network to secure necessary and appropriate resources for therapeutic services. She also provided encouragement and support for the family and served as a liaison between them and the High Risk IMP therapy team.

Farr wishes that people were more familiar with early intervention services. “I would like for people to have a better understanding of the benefits of early referral and early intervention which is why Make the First Five Count® is so important. Early identification is critical to ensure children meet developmental milestones,” said Farr.

Farr received her Bachelor of Science from University of Central Arkansas and minored in psychology. She has worked as a Child Abuse Investigator in the Department of Human Services, as a Family Service Coordinator in the UAMS Head Start Program, and was a Psychological Technician of neurological testing before coming to Easter Seals.
