The Krewe of Gemini Parade rolls on Saturday, and Captain Bernie Bitting, Fundraising Director for Easter Seals Louisiana, invited two special guests to ride on her float this year.

Jack and Carson Ross are twin brothers who share more than looks. They'll also share a ride on the Captain's float at the Krewe of Gemini Parade Saturday.

"Jack and Carson are two sweet fellows. They both have Cerebral Palsy," Bitting said.

"We were diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of two," said Jack Ross.

The boys have come a long way since their first major surgeries in 2005.

"I started walking at the age of seven and a half. I fell down a lot at first, but not anymore," said Jack.

Ron Gray was introduced to the 13-year-olds about a year ago. He's their mom's boyfriend who's seen some of the daily struggles the boys face.

"Just the simple things of getting in and out of a pick up truck, getting up the stairs," he said.

Jack and Carson both won't let their handicap get in the way. Carson says he wants to be independent.

"In my opinion, it's the best way to go about life. I just want to be as independent as I can so I'll be alright on my own" says Carson Ross.

They both hope to encourage others who may struggle.

"Accept help when you need it, but also try to be as independent as you can so you can get yourself stronger," explained Carson.
