September is International Alzheimer’s awareness month. Millions of people worldwide live with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.  This diagnosis can be incredibly isolating for individuals and their families. In honor of this month, we wanted to take this time to highlight some of the resources we offer for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other disabilities associated with aging.

We currently have two Adult Services Centers:

Gateway:

Located in Bremerton, Gateway is a great resource for adults with disabilities and their families. Our wonderful team helps family members navigate challenging care questions and provides them with some much-needed respite. In addition, our clients can participate in a wide range of activities, from workout sessions and other health services to games and party nights. At Gateway clients also have access to the Lift Zone Lab by Comcast. With Assistive technology and a VR room, clients can develop their computer literacy and prepare for real-life scenarios.

Eastside:

For people who live outside the Bremerton area, Eastside offers a unique virtual programming experience. Eastside’s online services are a great way for individuals with mobility challenges or who require a specific care environment to stay connected in their community. Clients can build lifelong friendships, participating in games and other intellectually stimulating activities all from the comfort of their homes.
