Have you found yourself asking questions like, “What does her behavior mean?” “Why is my child doing that?” “How can I build a relationship with my child when we struggle to communicate?” “How can I advocate for my child?” and, “How can I help him thrive?”
These are common questions that many parents of children with autism grapple with.
The diagnosis can feel both like a blow and a relief, providing clarity for what parents have sensed and offering a pathway to treatment that can help their neurodiverse child adapt and flourish in a neurotypical world.
ASD is a complex disorder that requires support for both the child and their family. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, particularly early intensive behavioral intervention, can be an effective way to provide that support.

At OPAC, we focus on developing functional communication skills and the foundational elements of social skills

We work on getting kids ready for school or assist with behaviors that can help them do better at school. We work on daily living skills such as potty training and brushing teeth. With parents’ permission, we work with other professionals who also work with your child to provide a comprehensive approach in all areas of your child’s life to increase communication and improve behavior. All learners work on a 1:1 ratio with a therapist and we have a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) on site.

Research indicates that personalized ABA treatment delivered at a young age yields the best outcomes.

Intensive therapy not only helps children establish positive behavior patterns but also significantly enhances their language skills, daily living abilities, and social interactions. Furthermore, studies demonstrate that investing in early intensive ABA treatment is cost-effective, potentially reducing the need for additional educational services later and fostering essential skills for independent living in adulthood. Most insurance plans are accepted, but we recommend discussing options with the Program Director for specific details.
