Nebraska AgrAbility

Man getting lifted into tractorNebraska AgrAbility focuses on providing comprehensive case management and rehabilitation technology services for farm and ranch family members affected by mental and physical disabilities. Easter Seals Nebraska's rehabilitation staff has a detailed understanding of the labor, equipment, and management requirements of Nebraska livestock and grain production, in addition to the unique disability benefits issues related to self-employment and rural independent living.

With Nebraska AgrAbility, farmers and ranchers can expect to attain the expertise and techincal support necessary to continue farming and ranching with their disability, as well as peer support from individuals who have similar disabilities and educational programs about accommodating disability in agriculture. Farmers and ranchers can also expect to receive guidance about how to obtain the assistive technology necessary to continue farming and ranching with their disability.  

Who is eligible?

Any Nebraska farmer or rancher or family member who has a disability, and has income from agriculture, is eligible for participation in the program.
