Easterseals Central Illinois receives 3-year CARF accreditation and continues be the only CARF Accredited Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Program (Pediatric Specialty) in Central Illinois 

CARF International announced that Easterseals Central Illinois has been accredited for a period of three years for its Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Programs (Pediatric Specialty Program). The latest accreditation is the 8th consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has given to Easterseals Central Illinois. 

Easterseals Central Illinois is the only CARF accredited organization in our category in Central Illinois and one of only 2 CARF accredited Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Programs with a Pediatric Specialty in the state of Illinois. The other is Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley.

 Highlights from the accreditation report:

  • Easterseals Central Illinois is a mature organization that provides quality and safe care to its populations. Forward thinking leadership benefits not only the organization, but also the legislative and advocacy needs of its clients.
  • All stakeholders interviewed were complimentary of the work being done and the goals children and adolescents were achieving at Easterseals Central Illinois including “our family is blessed because of this team” and “collaboration between internal and external therapists has always been good”.
  • Easterseals Central Illinois is recognized for its culture. The team speaks of cross-functional communication, of open-door policies and that each person strives to meet the values of the organization. Additional recognition is given for the thoughtfulness, the support, the research, and the planning of its most recent organizational re-alignment. Through this restructure, the organization has improved customer service, streamlined process, providing succession planning, and has better positioned itself to succeed and improve outcomes.
  • Easterseals Central Illinois is viewed as a “destination” for employment and is recognized in the community as a top place to work. Many staff members state they are proud to work for Easterseals Central Illinois, which speaks to the leadership, team members, and quality of programming and community impact.
  • Easterseals Central Illinois is experienced in fundraising, which not only helps it operate but also gives back to the community at the same time. The organization has a beautiful manner of sharing stories, showcasing the families served and connecting the public with their mission.

How was accreditation received?

The survey was conducted in November of 2019 through a series of confidential interviews and direct interactions with stakeholders and direct observation of the organization's operations and service delivery practices. In addition, the survey included review of organizational policies, plans, procedures, promotional materials, governing documents, financial statements, and documents related to program/service design, delivery, outcomes and improvements.
