How We Thrive

Get involved with the Thrive community! All programs and activities are FREE, but we do appreciate any donations to expand our program so we can help more young women nationwide.

About Thrive

Online Communities

At its heart, Thrive is an online support network for women with disabilities. The internet is a fantastic resource for women to share their stories and create lasting friendships. Please join us on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr to become a part of this awesome community! You can also stay in touch on everything through this website.

Live Chats

Thrive holds quarterly chats on Twitter about relevant topics for young women with disabilities. Our past events focused on discrimination at school, accessible fashion tips, and disability representation on TV. Keep checking back to see the latest events, or sign up for mobile alerts by texting THRIVE to 80077! Msg & Data Rates May Apply. Terms:

Letters to Thrive Blog

If you could write a letter to your younger self, what would you say? We asked this question to Thrive participants in 2013; it was so popular that we transformed the letters into a blog. Check out Letters to Thrive on Tumblr, where you can read personal stories about life lessons; we also share other writing to help lift the voices of women with disabilities. Thrive is always looking for more participants, too – just visit the Tumblr to learn more!

Thrive Media Hub

Want to read the latest news on disability in your favorite TV show or movie? Looking for a YouTube channel that features disabled actors or hosts? Thrive’s Media Hub has you covered. This website is updated frequently with new content. Join the conversation on the page’s comment section, or follow the #ThriveMedia hashtag on social media!

Book Lists

There are so many great books out there that it’s hard to pick what you want to read next. Thrive helps you by sharing our favorite reads around the various holidays and seasons. So far, you can check out our top ten summer books, Halloween reads, and comic books that feature disability! Do you have your own recommendations? Share them with us via Twitter using the #ThriveMedia hashtag.
