Throughout the state of Georgia, the Family Support Program serves roughly 6,000 individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) has proposed an ELIMINATION of this program in the upcoming fiscal year in response to Governor Brian Kemp's mandate to reduce spending to help balance the budget. With this budget proposal families will lose all services effective July 1, 2020.
The Governor's office, your State Representatives and State Senators need to hear from you directly. The Georgia legislature can act to protect this program, but they need to hear your personal stories to understand the importance of this vital program. PLEASE MAKE THE CALL TODAY!
