Community Living Supports (CLS)

The Community Living Support Program is designed to enable individuals to lead an independent life in a community setting. Easterseals provides qualified, trained staff, that are selected based upon the needs and desires of the person receiving services. Currently we serve individuals throughout Southwest Georgia in this program. 

Who is Eligible for Community Living Support Services?

To qualify for acceptance into the program, individuals must have a diagnosis of either: Traumatic Brain Injury, Intellectial Disability or Developmental Disability from a Medical Professional. The funding for this program comes from a variety of sources including: grants, Intellectual or Developmental Disability wavier services, and Family Support funding. 

What does the Community Living Support Program Entail?

Most of our participants live in their own homes or semi-independent apartments with Easterseals Southern Georgia providing staff assistance. Easterseals staff provides assistance with activities of daily living such as: bathing, grooming, cooking, housekeeping, personal care, assistance in community activities and learning social skills. The hours of service are based on the individuals needs and will be provided with a minimum of interference with their daily life.  

Community Living Support Services are designed for people who can accomplish quite a few things on their own, but who mayneed assistance in a certain aspect of their daily living. Most people receiving CLS Services only receive up to 6 hours of service a day. It truly depends on the need of the person.
